Setting

"Tales of Vogar - Lost Descendants" is set in the kingdom of Vogar, a once beautiful and thriving realm now filled with fear and despair. When Vogar was invaded by its neighbor, the empire of Limor, the resulting war brought famine and devastation that surpassed everyone’s worst nightmares.

However, for people of Vogar not all hope is lost yet. There are rumors that descendants of the royal family might still be alive...

Story

Ascan and Glen are facing a nearly impossible task. To reclaim their homeland, they need to form an army of bold souls willing to join them, all while evading Alastar’s attention. On their journey, they will meet familiar faces from the days of their childhood as well as new allies tired of the Limorian oppression.

However, they know that they won’t prevail against the magician’s wrath even if they could field the largest army Vogar had ever seen. Their hope rests on recent magical outbursts Ascan has experienced – and the persistent legends of the most powerful magic known to the realm, a force called “Ascension”. With it, they could shift the tide in their favour. But they are not the only ones on the hunt for this power…

Characters

The three main playable characters are Ascan, a magically gifted descendant of the royal family, his brother Glen, an impulsive adventurer with his own sense of humor and Jane, a kind-hearted healer who is looking for an excuse to escape her home town, as she would love nothing more than to explore the world.

Opposing them is the ruler of the empire of Limor, the sinister magician Alastar. No one had ever heard of him until about a year before the war, when the tension between the two countries was starting to rise, and so the wizard emerged from the shadows to conquer the throne. His motives and ambitions are unknown, but horrifying tales of his boundless fury are being told even in faraway lands.

writing & character depth could be made  way better with minimal effort ,look up some free online resources ,if i were to charge for something such as this ,as in using the RTP i'd personally be embarrassed for anyone to read the dialog in this game but again thats just me ,felt  nicer to know im supporting you then to play for more then 25 minutes lol sorry ^^ ,gl with this game anyway!

Thank you for your support. 25 min may not be enough to make a final verdict on writing and character depth - I would be very interested in how you like the rest of the story. Most people enjoyed it so far but that is personal preference of course :)

On a more personal note: I don't see issues in using the RTP, if you know how to use it - most of the maps were done with parallax mapping, meaning you don't have the standard box-to-box look and the ground doesn't look artificial. That took hundreds of hours and -imo- makes good use of it. Also, the animated battlers (characters and enemies) as well as many other assets are not RTP. Again – I’d like to see your verdict after playing the full game.

Sorry for the defensive statement – it is just that I spent thousands of hours creating that game and your comment makes it look like it was made in a week to make some money – on the contrary, this is a project from a JRPG lover that is coming from the heart.

the soul can definitely be felt from the first few moments after pressing "start game" ^^
,a wise saying goes "the worst game you've ever played is a miracle" & ive played far worse games in my youth ,so even though it would definitely seem as though through my initial comment that i were to suggest a lack of time invested in a craft or some such as you have explained very clearly please be rest assured that my intent was far from such a cold & heartless accusation, much support & no hard feelings over all!
